The reason most epoxy floors fail is bad prep. The coating peels in sheets within a year because it never bonded properly to the concrete underneath. Acid-etching (the cheaper prep method) does not open the pores deeply enough for a permanent bond, but diamond-grinding does. Trombley Painting Company uses diamond-grinding on every project.

After prep, we apply a 100 percent solids epoxy base coat, broadcast colored vinyl flakes to refusal for a non-slip texture and the finish color you want, and seal with a polyaspartic or polyurethane clear topcoat for chemical and UV resistance.

A one-car garage runs $3,000 to $4,500. A two-car garage runs $4,500 to $6,500. A three-car garage runs $6,500 to $9,500. All quotes include diamond-grinding, crack repair, base coat, flake broadcast, and clear topcoat.
